IT Systems Administrator Role Overview
This hands-on role involves providing technical support to internal stakeholders, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining critical IT systems. Key responsibilities include supporting laptop and desktop provisioning, coordinating with crew for maintenance, and responding to system alerts and alarms.
* Main Responsibilities:
* Support laptop & desktop provisioning, including system builds and configuration for new hires.
* Coordinate with vessel crew to perform maintenance outside business hours.
* Provide technical assistance via phone, remote sessions, and in-person desk support for operating systems and business applications.
* Monitor and respond to system alerts and alarms promptly.
* Action and resolve ticket in the IT support queue.
* Perform account administration within Active Directory, Office 365, and other business applications.
* Implement updates, patches, and security measures.
* Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as required.
* Undertake technology project work under the guidance of IT team.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a solid understanding of IT systems. Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and networking is essential, as well as experience with Active Directory and Office 365.
