* This is a significant opportunity to step into a senior leadership role within one of the largest hospitals in New South Wales, providing the platform to influence service delivery and improve outcomes for a large and diverse community.
* Reporting to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery Services, you will be responsible for the operational leadership of a large and complex clinical portfolio, including Surgery, Cardiology, Cardiothoracics, Renal, Gastroenterology and Medical Imaging.
* You will lead day-to-day operational performance across your portfolio, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred care. This includes a strong focus on patient flow, access to care, and the effective management of services within a complex and dynamic healthcare environment.
* In addition to operational leadership, you will contribute to service planning and the development of evidence-based models of care, supporting continuous improvement and innovation across the portfolio. This role offers a balanced opportunity to lead complex operations while contributing to strategic service development.

* You are a motivated, strengths-based leader who demonstrates resilience, sound judgement, and the ability to lead effectively in high‐pressure, fast‐paced environments. You are confident in making decisions, managing competing priorities, and maintaining focus on both immediate operational demands and longer‐term service improvement.
* Your leadership style is visible, approachable, and supportive, with a clear commitment to fostering a positive culture across multidisciplinary teams. You are skilled in building capability in others, particularly Nurse Unit Managers and emerging leaders, and are passionate about developing high‐performing teams that consistently deliver safe, high‐quality care.
* You bring strong expertise in managing complex clinical services, with a well‐developed understanding of patient flow, access, and the operational levers required to meet performance targets. You are comfortable using data to inform decisions, monitor performance, and drive accountability across services.
* You have demonstrated experience in leading service improvement initiatives, implementing evidence-based models of care, and working collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health teams to deliver integrated, patient‐centred outcomes.
* You are an effective communicator and influencer, able to engage stakeholders at all levels, manage challenging conversations, and build strong working relationships across the organisation. You lead with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Above all, you are committed to delivering person‐centred, safe, and equitable care for the community, while contributing positively to a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
