We operate in a fast‐paced, ever‐evolving environment and partner with some of Australia's largest asset owners. **About the role** We are seeking skilled and safety‐focused **Mechanical Fitters** to support maintenance, and project works across an **Alumina Smelter**. You will be responsible for performing mechanical repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance on fixed plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operational performance. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will carry out breakdown support, planned maintenance, shutdown activities and equipment upgrades across critical processing assets. **Key Responsibilities** * Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs and fault‐finding on fixed plant equipment. * Conduct inspections, lubrication, alignment, replacement of components and general servicing. * Support shutdowns, project works and preventative maintenance programs. * Work safely in operational processing environments following all permits and procedures. * Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend corrective actions to minimise downtime. * Collaborate with supervisors, trades and operations teams to maintain plant reliability. * Ensure all work is completed to quality, safety and compliance standards. **About you** * Trade‐qualified **Mechanical Fitter** or equivalent. * Experience in mining, minerals processing, bauxite/alumina, or heavy industrial environments. * Strong technical ability across pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, crushers, hydraulic systems and rotating equipment. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions. * Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and delivering high‐quality workmanship. * Ability to work in a fast‐paced operational plant environment with competing priorities. * Tickets such as Working at Heights, Confined Space or EWP are advantageous. **About UGL** As part of the CIMIC Group, UGL values diversity of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.
