Occupational Therapist Job Description

Job Summary
This role involves coordinating the delivery of therapy services to assess function and capacity and provide therapy programs to both children and adults with development challenges. Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide therapeutic services to a range of designated NDIS participants utilising a strength-based service model.
2. Coordinate the delivery of therapy services to assess function and capacity and provide therapy programs to both children and adults with development challenges.
3. Conduct assessments and work with practitioners and participants to contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the therapeutic plan.
4. Conduct home visits and visits to the community as required.
5. Refer to and liaise with other medical and allied health professionals as required.
6. Coach, advise, and provide on-the-job support to team members and carers to improve their skills and knowledge in the areas of developmental milestone development and evidence-based interventions and practice.
7. Plan, develop, and facilitate or co-facilitate therapeutic therapy programs for participants and other stakeholders internal and external to the organisation.
8. Attend review meetings, case conferences, and other meetings and ensure all documentation and notes are saved to Case Manager.
9. Work with other Allied Health Professionals to build capability across the team.
10. Provide excellent customer service and effective complaint management, escalating to the regional manager as appropriate.
11. Document and create reports on participant services using technology and paper-based systems in a clear, logical, understandable, and timely way.
Requirements:
* A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree from a recognized institution.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in occupational therapy, preferably in a similar role.
* Current registration with AHPRA.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Familiarity with NDIS policies and procedures.
