Job Description
WT in Melbourne continues to secure a number of high-profile $billion + projects and in line with this unparalleled growth of our project pipeline, the VIC office is expanding, in particular the M&E and Building Services team are looking for an established Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their talented team and work across a wide variety of build, construction and property projects.
Core Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain cost estimates for engineering services on projects, from Class 5 budgets to detailed design stages
* Conduct cost analysis on engineering projects and provide accurate estimates for materials, labour, and other expenses
* Advise project managers and other stakeholders on cost-saving measures and cost-effective solutions
* Prepare bills of quantities or schedules of materials, labour, and equipment required for the project
* Analyse and review contractor bids to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Work with engineers, project managers, and other project stakeholders to ensure that the project meets all requirements
* Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers and contractors
* Prepare and agree progress payments, assess variations and claims, and report costs vs budgets
* Monitor and report on project expenses and ensure that project finances are properly managed
* Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and other stakeholders
* Review detailed engineering reports and incorporate into Cost Plans
* Site inspections to assess project completions status with a focus on MEP trades
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field / trade experience equivalent
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost engineering or construction cost estimating
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of engineering materials, building regulations, and construction methods
* Experience with estimating software and tools
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
