General Practitioner Role
This is a unique opportunity to work as a General Practitioner in Mount Isa, QLD. The role involves providing direct GP services to a growing client group and assisting with leadership based on the organisation model of care.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in clinical governance, service development, and Medicare income generation. They will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of health professionals, working sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and implementing regular auditing to improve clinic practice.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of clinical governance, excellent interpersonal skills, and knowledge and experience in the Medicare Benefits Schedule. You will also need to be technology-savvy and able to perform comprehensive patient assessments, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical care and primary health care strategies.
Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:
* Qualified Medical Practitioner, holding unconditional current registration with AHPRA
* Eligible for unrestricted Medicare Provider Number
* Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity towards the social, economic, and cultural factors affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's health
* Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential
* Satisfactory police check – no serious Criminal/Court record
* Current Blue Card (working with children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card
* Willingness to work flexible hours as required, including the requirement to travel (by road and small plane), work and stay overnight in remote areas
