We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team.
This hands-on role will see you working closely with our Head Chef, preparing and presenting dishes that uphold Harry's Beach Bistro's high standards of quality and creativity.
Cook – Harry's Beach Bistro | Kings Beach, QLD Key Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with safe food handling practices and workplace hygiene standards.
Season dishes throughout the cooking process to enhance flavours, with a focus on balancing taste profiles in alignment with our culinary style.
Portion meals accurately, plate attractively, and apply sauces, garnishes, and decorative elements to elevate the dining presentation.
Stay updated with seasonal produce availability to incorporate innovative and fresh ideas into our offering.
Adapt recipes and preparation methods to cater for guests with special dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, or allergy-specific orders.
Store perishable and non-perishable items in appropriate temperature-controlled environments to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of menu items in line with our fusion and coastal-themed offerings, ensuring flavour, texture, and presentation meet our brand's signature standards.
Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to assist in menu planning, estimating ingredient requirements, and optimising food cost management.
Manage temperature controls for grills, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to deliver consistently excellent cooking results.
Monitor the quality and freshness of all ingredients, conducting regular checks to uphold food safety and premium standards.
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure meals are delivered promptly, aligning with our service flow and guest expectations.
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and apprentices, sharing knowledge on cooking techniques and safe work procedures.
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation Hours: Full-time 38 hours per week Experience Required: Minimum 1-year relevant experience Qualifications: AQF Certificate III (with at least two years of on-the-job training) or AQF Certificate IV Personal Attributes
