We are currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to be an integral part of our growing team. This key role will ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of building facilities, with a focus on power systems, fire and safety, and plumbing. The ideal candidate will be results-oriented and possess excellent time and task management skills, enabling them to hit the ground running and contribute immediately to our operational success.
Key responsibilities
* Overseeing the Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance of all Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) units, such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units, etc.)
* Monitoring and ensuring the optimal operation of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Control Systems (FMCS)
* Managing the maintenance, repair, and integrity of domestic water, sanitary, and drainage systems
* Ensuring the maintenance and testing of mechanical components in fire suppression systems, such as fire pump operation, sprinkler system components, and ventilation control during a fire
* Conducting energy audits and performance analysis on mechanical systems (especially HVAC) to identify opportunities for cost savings and energy reduction.
* Ensuring all mechanical systems comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and government mandates.
* Conducting safety audits and developing Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for complex maintenance tasks.
* Supervising and inspecting the work of external contractors to ensure quality, compliance with specifications, and adherence to safety protocols.
* Drafting Request for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluating bids for specialised mechanical maintenance contracts (e.g., deep HVAC maintenance, chiller servicing).
Skills Required
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
Bachelor's in engineering or a similar field
Quick learner and effective problem solver
Ability to multitask, plan, and execute effectively
Exceptional organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while thriving in a collaborative team environment
Have excellent interpersonal skills
