The Role
GenusPlus is delivering the North West Transmission Developments (NWTD) – a once-in-a-generation project reshaping how clean energy flows across Tasmania and into the national grid. We're seeking a Sustainability Lead who can drive environmental, cultural, and community outcomes with both strategic insight and operational discipline.
This is your opportunity to embed sustainability at the heart of a major infrastructure project, engage directly with Traditional Owners and regulatory stakeholders, and guide compliance across planning, design and delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead sustainability integration across the NWTD project lifecycle
* Develop and implement environmental, cultural heritage, and social sustainability strategies
* Manage relationships with Traditional Owner groups, regulators, and landowners
* Oversee regulatory approvals, environmental documentation, and project reporting
* Coordinate consultants (ecologists, archaeologists, sustainability advisors)
* Champion continuous improvement in environmental and social outcomes
* Support internal capability building and SHEQ compliance
What You'll Bring
* Extensive experience in sustainability, environmental, or cultural heritage roles
* Strong knowledge of Federal/Tasmanian environmental and Indigenous heritage regulations
* Proven leadership on major infrastructure or energy projects
* Outstanding stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
* Experience managing compliance across multidisciplinary project environments
* Proficiency in sustainability frameworks, audit tools, and reporting
* Relevant qualifications in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Planning, or similar
