Job Title: Meteorological Operations Specialist
Description:
The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a skilled Meteorological Operations Specialist to join its Energy and Resources (E&R) Operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing meteorological services to the energy and resources sectors across Australia, including marine forecasting, tropical cyclones, and severe weather events.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain a suite of products and services for the E&R sectors, including bespoke and tailored products and services to meet commercial arrangements with specific customers.
* Contribute to the development of forecast policy and collaborate with other meteorologists to ensure the provision of a consistent suite of commercial services.
* Produce and issue forecasts and warnings for E&R customers, liaising with customers and service partners as necessary.
* Provide briefing services and support decision-making for E&R customers.
Requirements:
* Degree or diploma in an appropriate field from an Australian educational institution, or comparable overseas qualification.
* Successful completion of the Basic Instruction Package for Meteorologists (BIP-M).
* Experience in operational service delivery environment, preferably in E&R meteorology.
* Skill in scientific, technical, professional fields, including meteorology, forecasting, and customer requirements.
