The role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Executive to grow a territory in New South Wales to help increase revenue. You’ll be fully responsible for identifying, pursuing, and successfully closing opportunities in your designated territory. As a Secondary Sales Executive, you’ll be part of an enthusiastic, hardworking sales unit. You will have a designated territory each year to concentrate on growing the uptake of Nelson Cengage products in Australian Secondary schools.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, K-12 Schools, this role is located in New South Wales, South West. However, a minimum of four weeks annually of travel to the country and interstate locations will be necessary.
Ideally, we seek a standout colleague with strong interpersonal skills and proven sales experience. They collaborate effectively with team members and communicate openly and proactively. Candidates must be self-motivated and have excellent problem-solving skills. They challenge existing methods and take calculated risks to satisfy customers’ requirements.
You'll be passionate about:
* Proactively planning, forecasting, and handling pipeline management, making sure that gap and upside plans are prepared.
* Manage a value-based sales cycle from qualification of need, through to objection handling, negotiation and closing sales.
* Maintaining strong product knowledge to become a specialist on relevant products.
Responsibilities:
* Identify all new and untapped markets within a designated territory
* Meet with key decision makers and present our products
* Maintain and grow existing customers
* Develop leads and marketing strategies through extensive research and cold calling
* Achieve set sales targets and benchmarks
* Maintain a CRM system
* The successful applicant will have proven selling skills and demonstrate the ability to source new business through outstanding service.

You will need to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work independently, as well as contribute positively to a cohesive team setting. Experience in publishing, bookselling, or education will be considered an advantage. A tertiary qualification is strongly preferred, and a full driver’s licence is required. This position also requires a Working with Children check in line with New South Wales government regulations.
