Liberty Community Connect is looking for a warm, capable and organised Cook to join our team in Nerang.
This is more than a kitchen job. You will play an important part in helping older people and people living with disability feel connected, valued and well supported.
You will prepare fresh, home-style meals for clients each day attending our Community Connections program, prepare lunches for out in the community with plans to grow our take-home meals for clients across our community.

We are looking for someone who knows how to cook hearty, nourishing meals that older people genuinely enjoy. Someone who understands that food is not just fuel. It is comfort, connection and one of the best parts of the day ❤️
About the role
You will:
* Plan and prepare nutritious morning tea, lunch and dessert each day
* Create simple, tasty menus with plenty of variety
* Cater for dietary needs including diabetes, allergies, and special diets
* Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food safety requirements
* Order stock and manage supplies
* Work with our team to create a welcoming, fun and positive environment for clients
* Help us grow our take-home meal service over time
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being around people and wants to make a real difference.
About you
You might be the right fit if you:
* Love cooking proper home-style meals
* Have experience cooking for older people, in aged care, disability, hospitality or a similar setting
* Understand nutrition and different dietary requirements
* Have a commercial cookery qualification or strong relevant experience
* Hold, or are willing to obtain, a Food Safety Certificate
* Are organised, reliable and happy to jump in where needed
* Bring a positive attitude, a sense of humour and enjoy chatting with people
* Are comfortable with basic computer tasks and using a smartphone
You will also need:
* First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain before starting
* NDIS Worker Screening clearance
* Current COVID vaccinations as required
