Details: Infrastructure Canberra (iCBR) invites applications from suitably qualified legal and governance professionals for the role of Assistant Director – Reporting and Freedom of Information (FOI) (Senior Officer Grade C). The position is responsible for the interpretation, application and administration of statutory information access and reporting obligations, including compliance with Annual Report Directions, whole‐of‐government accountability frameworks and associated administrative law principles.

The Assistant Director leads and oversees the directorate's FOI function, including providing legally robust advice on complex, sensitive and high‐risk access applications, managing internal reviews where required, and ensuring decisions are timely, defensible and compliant with legislative requirements and relevant guidelines. The role also leads the coordination and assurance of Infrastructure Canberra's Annual Report and other statutory and governance reporting obligations, ensuring accurate disclosure, internal accountability and compliance with reporting instruments. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining FOI and reporting policies, procedures and guidance material and delivering capability‐building programs.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

* Previous experience in managing directorate responses to FOI requests will be highly regarded.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Part-time hours will be considered and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
