Frazer Institute Part-time (20% FTE), fixed-term position through to 31 December 2027 Base salary will range from $171,965 - $189,285 (full-time equivalent) 17% Superannuation Academic Level D position Based at our Dutton Park campus (hybrid/remote work options may be considered) About This Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Principal Research Fellow to join our world-class research team at the Frazer Institute to support and drive research into genetic counselling and public health genomics. We are specifically looking for a dynamic senior academic with expertise in genomics education and workforce development capable of developing, implementing and evaluating online, in person and experiential training programs. Key responsibilities will include: Research: Lead research projects, publish in reputable journals, initiate and lead funding initiatives, and shape strategic research agendas. Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students and provide performance feedback and training to develop research staff capability and skill. Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate leadership through mentorship and advance strategic partnerships with industry, government departments, professional bodies and the wider community. This is a research focused position. Further information can be found by viewing UQ’s Criteria for Academic Performance. About You Completion of a PhD in Genomics. A sustained record of outstanding impact and achievement in research in Genomics education and workforce upskilling. International recognition in Genomics education and workforce upskilling and an excellent record of publications in reputed refereed journal and presenting at conferences. Ability to successfully lead a research team, with an excellent record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing significant external research funding from institutional and commercial sources. An extensive record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a multidisciplinary background.
