ABOUT THE ROLE This is an exciting time for us, as we continue to grow analysis across Cricket. The Performance Data Scientist is a new role that will join a very talented and passionate team. As a Performance Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of applying advanced analytical methods to prepare and examine data, generate insights, and drive informed decision-making across our National Teams and High Performance network and system. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Performance Data & Technology, you'll be responsible for leading the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications, dashboards, and reports to aid performance analysis services for the Men's and Women's National Teams, as well as High Performance projects and initiatives. You will also lead exploration and analysis of datasets to identify patterns and trends to support strategy, tactics and opposition analysis for our National Teams. We are constantly striving for better, and you will contribute to this by identifying opportunities to improve existing workflows and reduce redundancies, automate and streamline data flow, and strengthen the integration and accessibility of data to the benefit of our National Teams, High Performance system, and the wider Australian Cricket network. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Our ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, IT or related fields. You'll have advanced programming skills in R or Python, and SQL, and you'll be highly proficient in efficiently querying data warehouses. You'll be skilled in wrangling and mining data, as well as integrating and analysing data from multiple sources (cloud-based platforms, data warehouses, APIs). You will have experience in delivering analysis using web applications and/or business intelligence tools such as R Shiny, Streamlit, Power BI or similar. Strong project management skills with experience overseeing the full lifecycle or data science projects will be highly regarded, as will the ability to effectively communicate complex insights in a practical manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Finally, our ideal candidate will have a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, that will ultimately deliver great outcomes for Australian cricket. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
