Do you want to stand beside people with disability when systems fail them?
Darwin Community Legal Service is looking for an NDIS Appeals Advocate to help Territorians challenge unfair decisions made by the National Disability Insurance Agency.
In this role you will support people with disability to understand their rights, challenge decisions, and access the supports they need to live independently and with dignity.
This is a part-time role (3 days per week) working in a passionate team committed to fairness, inclusion, and human rights.

About the role
The NDIS Appeals Advocate supports people with disability to challenge decisions made by the NDIA.
You will assist clients to navigate the review process and ensure they have the evidence and support needed to access reasonable and necessary supports under the NDIS.
Your work will include:
Supporting clients to challenge NDIA decisions about access, plans and funding
Assisting clients to request NDIA Internal Reviews
Supporting applications to the Administrative Review Tribunal
Helping clients gather medical and functional evidence
Preparing written advocacy material and submissions
Liaising with NDIA staff, lawyers and health professionals
Supporting clients to participate in case conferences and hearings
Contributing to community education about NDIS review and appeal rights
Identifying systemic issues affecting people with disability
You will also work closely with other advocates and lawyers to ensure clients receive coordinated support.
About you
You are passionate about social justice and disability rights and enjoy helping people navigate complex systems.
You may have experience in advocacy, community services, disability support, legal assistance or government programs.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience supporting people through complaints, reviews or appeals processes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prepare written advocacy material or submissions
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Confidence working with government agencies and professionals
Strong organisational and teamwork skills
Experience with the NDIS or Administrative Review Tribunal processes will be highly regarded.
A current NT driver's licence and willingness to travel in the NT is required.
