We currently have:

* Casual positions available to cover regular periods of leave relief

We welcome applications from local, interstate and AHPRA registered retired professionals interested in supporting service delivery, leave relief, or regular rostered shifts.

* Paediatric experience is desirable; however, applicants with strong general Nuclear Medicine experience will be supported to transition to our paediatric setting.
* Standard days – hours are between 7:30-5pm, Monday to Friday with participation in the emergency weekend on-call roster (5pm Friday to 7:30am Monday) and public holidays.

Position Profile:

Perth Children's Hospital & Neonatology (PCHN) are seeking experienced Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologists to join our Medical Imaging Department and provide and coordinate high-quality services supporting diagnosis and management across a range of clinical indications, including oncology, musculoskeletal, respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions, with a strong focus on physiology and functional imaging.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our specialised and expanding service, with planned introduction of a new PET CT. Current equipment in the Nuclear Medicine department is a SPECT/CT.

As a Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and play a key role in patient safety, clinical quality, service coordination and workflow efficiency, and provision of supervision and education to Nuclear Medicine staff, students and other clinical staff.

You will also have opportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research activities, and the development and review of clinical policies and protocols.

Key responsibilities include:

* Performing routine and complex Nuclear Medicine imaging, including PET/CT and the operation of imaging and ancillary equipment, image processing and analysis.
* Preparing, dispensing and performing quality control of radionuclides within the radiopharmaceutical laboratory.
* Coordinating bookings, imaging workflows and radiopharmaceutical availability to support efficient daily operations.
* Maintaining and overseeing quality control of gamma cameras, computing systems and ancillary equipment, including fault identification and escalation.
* Liaising with the Radiation Protection Officer and ensuring compliance with recognised international radiation safety standards and safe handling of sealed and unsealed radioactive sources.

About the Team

Based at Perth Children's Hospital, Western Australia's only acute tertiary paediatric centre, our dedicated Medical Imaging Team offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services to children aged 0-16 years, including inpatients, outpatients, and the Emergency Department.

Our team provides a wide variety of imaging within the subspecialties of interventional radiology, paediatric cardiac catheterisations, general X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy.

We focus on achieving the highest quality imaging studies with a compassionate, child-friendly approach. Our department is equipped with highly specialised facilities and equipment designed to create a safe and comfortable environment for infants, children, and their families.

As part of our dedication to excellence, we benchmark our services through collaboration with other children's hospitals and actively participate in research initiatives. We support research projects and contribute to the advancement of procedures through partnerships with universities and paediatric specialist foundations.
