Job Summary:
The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
Main Responsibilities:
* Greet patients in a polite and helpful manner, ensuring a positive first impression.
* Schedule appointments, reschedule as needed, and confirm or cancel appointments with patients.
* Update patient demographic and insurance information at check-in, providing necessary forms for completion.
* Answer phones professionally, assisting callers directly when possible and documenting messages for follow-up.
* Screen calls, escalate to appropriate individuals, and provide detailed summaries of conversations.
* Collect copays/patient due balances, review encounter forms for accuracy, obtain signatures, and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
* Assist patients in activating and navigating their patient portal account.
Requirements:
1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Driver's license may be required.
3. Experience in a medical office and customer service is beneficial.
4. Computer skills and effective cash collection techniques are desirable.
