*Our client is a renowned vocational education and training institution

The PMO Lead will work with the Senior Director, ICT Portfolio Delivery, to design, setup and run the Program Management Office. The purpose is to ensure that the organisation has effective and robust program delivery governance, management artefacts, processes and assurance for both program based and BAU operational projects*

Primary Responsibilities:

1. In conjunction with the Program Director, lead the design and set-up of the program management office; establishing the PMO as a central function and best practice
2. Ongoing management and continuous improvement of the PMO and reporting toolkit, ensuring that the organisation has the project delivery reporting capabilities to manage both BAU and program-based projects.
3. Establish consistent and measurable methods for the effective oversight and reporting of the performance of the program and its projects (i.e., health check/reviews).
4. Regularly provide reporting and respond to ad hoc queries on the status of live projects to senior management.
5. Be a champion for change, driving forward continuous improvement and working closely with the wider Digitisation team to mobilise and embed functional and cultural change.
6. Support project managers with project management techniques, including planning, reporting and scheduling and ensuring project records are captured effectively.

Skills and Experience:

* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of program management office (PMO) processes and procedures - particularly the ability to lead and develop teams and program staff in program management functions.
* Proven abilities and experience in the development of a PMO function - including processes and templates, reporting and continuous improvement practices
* Exposure to complex change projects which include technical system change - reporting of their status, including financial oversight and reporting to senior stakeholders
* Knowledge and experience in the application of a recognised governance and program and project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., MSP, P3M, PRINCE2).
* Knowledge of governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks, principles and practices
* Experience in leading teams, and developing staff.
* Understanding of Project Governance / Assurance / Gating processes in a program context
* Ability to establish and maintain effective and diverse strategic business partnerships; including with executive stakeholders
* Superior written communication skills including the development and maintenance of all project and program related documentation
