Responsibilities
* Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian accounting standards.
* Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
* Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain smooth financial operations.
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST and BAS lodgements.
* Provide financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
* Continuously identify and implement process improvements in financial operations.
Qualifications
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional membership or working towards CPA or CA accreditation.
* Big 4 or Mid tier Audit experience required.
* Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
* Experience in the Energy & Natural Resources sector would be advantageous.
