An exceptional opportunity awaits at our Sunshine Coast Head Office for a skilled Accounts Payable professional who is ready to elevate their career and step into leadership
This hands‑on role will see you collaborating closely with and being mentored by the Accounts Manager, with a focus on guiding the development and processes of our Accounts Payable team. You'll use our bespoke system designed and developed by our team to play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, process enhancement and facilitating seamless financial operations.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
* Lead and cultivate a high-performing Accounts Payable Team of 4
* Pioneer innovative initiatives and process enhancements, driving automation to streamline operations
* Ensure adherence to internal and external financial reporting deadlines
* Establish and uphold best practices and controls
* Deliver comprehensive training and mentorship to the Accounts Payable Team
* Hands‑on processing and oversee data entry, supplier invoice reviews, and end‑of‑month reconciliations
* Prepare and review weekly contractor payments
* Develop and maintain procedures for accurate transaction recording and training materials
* Support month‑end financial reporting and BAS lodgement preparation
* Engage with contractors, offering assistance and resolving inquiries
* Provide support with Year‑end Audit
About You
* Strong leadership abilities
* Exceptional analytical, communication and problem‑solving capabilities
* 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable/Finance
* Passion for driving team success and achieving goals
* Be motivated by KPI's and commitment to process enhancements
* Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive work ethic
* Highly developed time management and organisational skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
* High level of competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, office suite products
Qualifications / Experience
* Background in the building industry is advantageous
* Accounting/Finance Degree Qualifications are desirable, but not essential
