About the role:
The Rehabilitation Consultant is responsible for the implementation of CPA's injury management and return to work programme as well as direct face to face engagement of injured workers, their treating professionals and scheme agents.
This role requires frequent travel within the Sydney Metropolitan region as well as some travel to Hunter and Central Coast regions.

Responsibilities of the role (not limited to):
- Liaising with treating professionals, insurers, and other key stakeholders to drive positive outcomes for injured workers
- Conducting a wide variety of assessment services such as functional and ergonomic assessments
- Providing return to work programs and rehabilitation implementation to customise and design return to work for injured workers while including environmental frameworks to reflect individual site and client needs
- Providing technical support and advice on best practice injury management and reasonable adjustments to the business
- Maintaining procedures and frameworks to ensure compliance with policies, legislative requirements, and workers compensation insurer requirements which in turn will mitigate risk
- Conducting internal ergonomic assessment and reports where required and provide support and advice to managers
- Liaising with the Health Safety and Wellbeing Team Leader around worker intervention strategies
- Maintaining case notes and complete clear concise return to work plans
- Attending GP appointments with workers to discuss return to work goals where required
- Building and managing effective partnerships that engage stakeholders in understanding and identifying innovative solutions in supporting best practice return to work outcomes.
- Coordinating a portfolio of workers compensation claims to contain costs, improve workforce retention and preserve a high level of customer service.
**Requirements**:
- At least 1-3 years' experience in an allied health background is highly desirable
- 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience within an occupational rehabilitation or relevant field
- Demonstrated success in rehabilitation of complex physical and psychological workers compensation claims
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience
- Positive "can do" attitude with the ability to think outside the square
