About the Client
A highly respected and recognisable community driven organisation renowned for excellence in client service delivery. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a stable Finance team as a National Payroll Specialist on a full-time ongoing basis.
About the Opportunity
Reporting, and working in a collaborative and supportive environment across other areas including HR and Shared Services, key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Monitor the accuracy of all payroll, position and leave related data in the payroll system to ensure data integrity for management and external reports.
- Interpret and stay up-to-date with changes to Enterprise Agreements (Aged Care) to ensure accuracy of pay.
- Prepare and process the fortnightly and monthly payroll for permanent and casual staff.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and industrial instruments.
- Provide high-level payroll advice to senior management and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain solid internal controls, supporting audits and reporting requirements.
- Process timesheets and hours for casuals via the Time and Attendance system.
- Processing, reconciling and clearing month end figures.
- Offer timely and accurate resolutions of payroll related queries.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in payroll processes.
- Ensure all interactions are handled with the highest level of confidentiality, sensitivity, and empathy, respecting employee privacy and concerns.
Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years experience in coordinating a range of end-to-end payroll services including knowledge of and ability to comply with payroll procedures, awareness of tax obligations and the relevant legislation.
- UKG Payroll system experience ideal.
- Ability to guide and provide timely service and response to staff at all levels on payroll related enquiries.
- Strong Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation within the aged care, healthcare, or community related sector ideal but not mandatory.
- Self-starter with a proactive and solutions focused approach.
- Sound communication skills, verbal and written.
