The Community Stroke Team provides group programs, education, and resources—most free of charge—to empower recovery and improve quality of life after stroke. You'll be primarily based at the Wallsend Health Campus, with programs delivered across multiple sites including John Hunter Hospital, the Royal Newcastle Centre, Rankin Park Hospital, and community locations.Our team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and allied health assistants, all committed to the shared goal: Supporting stroke survivors and their carers to live well after stroke.About The RoleIn this rewarding position, you’ll work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver group programs focusing on fatigue and mood management for stroke survivors. Your week will include planning and facilitating sessions, liaising with clients and families, and contributing your professional expertise to the team’s goals.Key Activities IncludeFacilitating structured group programs targeting post-stroke fatigue and emotional wellbeingWorking independently as a clinician while actively contributing to team-based careEngaging with stroke survivors and their families to provide education and supportParticipating in regular team discussions and service improvement initiativesThis role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact on clients’ confidence, function and independence in a community-based setting.About YouYou are a compassionate and confident Occupational Therapist with a passion for group facilitation and stroke rehabilitation.
