Job Title: Plasterer Tradesperson
Job Description:
* Deliver high-quality finishes to plastering projects in residential and commercial settings.
* Measure, mark, cut, and position plasterboard sheets for walls, ceilings, and internal linings to ensure a smooth finish.
* Secure plasterboard to battens, studs, or metal framing using screws or adhesives for added stability.
* Install insulation and vapour barriers as needed to support thermal control and moisture management.
* Prepare and fix corner beads to achieve clean finishes at joints and corners.
* Cover joints and screw fixings with plaster compounds and smooth using brushes and sandpaper to create a seamless appearance.
* Fix cornices, ceiling centres, panel mouldings, and other decorative fittings to enhance interior design.
* Apply and finish acoustic, fireproofing, and insulating materials to ceilings and wall linings for improved sound and thermal performance.
* Straighten and level corners, angles, and wall surfaces to achieve uniformity and aesthetic appeal.
* Create textured finishes or decorative features in final coats where required to meet client specifications.
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment and adhere to site safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Requirements:
* Hold a Certificate III (or equivalent qualification) in plastering with 2 years of on-the-job training to gain expertise.
* Prior experience of at least one year in the trade is necessary for success.
* Develop strong knowledge of materials, tools, and techniques used in plastering to stay up-to-date.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is essential for planning and execution.
* Good physical stamina and attention to detail are crucial for achieving high-quality results.
