About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Visual Arts Teacher to become a valuable addition to our team at James Sheahan Catholic High School in Orange NSW. The teacher in a Secondary Catholic School is someone who can collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs relevant to the Subject curriculum while creating a nurturing and orderly learning environment for students.

We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

* Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.
* Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.
* Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.
* Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.
* Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.
* Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contributing to school life.
* Providing student supervision and assisting in organising extracurricular activities.

About You (selection criteria)

We are looking for someone who can address the following selection criteria:

* A commitment to Catholic education and a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools
* Ability to integrate technology effectively to maximise student outcomes and engagement
* Ability to work and teach as part of a professional learning team
* Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of effort, engagement and excellence through the development of a positive, supportive student environment and related structures
* Qualifications and experience in teaching Junior and Senior Visual Art Courses. Qualifications in Photography an advantage
