The Role
We seek an experienced Service Technician (Fitter) to join our Orange team working on Specialized mining and surface drilling Equipment. As a Service Technician, you will carry out service and repairs on specialist mining equipment and components.
This is a workshop-based role with some field service required. You will be part of a 7/7 roster ideal for an Orange-based local.
OEM product training will be available to the successful applicant with many opportunities to further your skillset and career.
Areas of Responsibility
1. Report all incidents, injuries, and hazards immediately to your supervisor and through designated reporting systems.
2. Determine equipment condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged components.
3. Maintain and repair machines to OEM standard.
4. Provide daily feedback and reports to supervisor on progress of work measured against schedule.
5. Complete commissioning of new and repaired equipment/components.
6. Enhance the service department and Sandvik's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing work to quality standards.
7. Participate in learning and development opportunities and support the development of others within the team.
Your Profile
1. Relevant Mechanical or Auto Electrical trade qualification.
2. 3+ years of mobile mining equipment exposure.
3. Strong and proven safety culture.
4. Proactive, self-motivated, and demonstrates initiative.
5. Comfortable working in a team dynamic.
6. Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Good computer literacy and experience in electronic record keeping.
