YOUR NEW ROLE
The role is responsible to provide expert advice on all fire related matters including systems, operations and contract management to ensure service delivery, compliance with regulations, codes, and standards and appropriate risk management. The position will provide fire safety advice in relation to SOH events, venues, renewal works and technical aspects of fire safety, and emergency response, including line management of the Fire Safety Team and providing advice to the broader Emergency Planning & Response Group.
The role provides advice and support on the fire services maintenance contract and for the planning and implementation of capital improvement projects relating to the fire safety systems including the Annual Fire Safety Statement to ensure full compliance.

ARE YOU THE ONE?
* Tertiary qualifications or equivalent extensive relevant experience' in fire compliance and emergency management, or a relevant discipline.
* Minimum Certificate IV in Risk Management or equivalent
* Demonstrated experience in fire compliance and risk management and ability to interpret current federal, state and local regulations, codes, and standards concerning fire, emergency management and life safety.
* Experience in developing and implementing operational plans across a range of disciplines and substantial experience working in a variety of complex situations within a multi-dimensional public facility similar to the Sydney Opera House
* Excellent written and oral communication and influencing skills, with strong writing ability and presentation skills
* Thorough and comprehensive contemporary operational experience in a high-profile and high-public-visitation site characterised by high levels of activity and 24 hour seven days per week coverage.
* Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve complex technical problems.
* A valid WWCC clearance.All SOH staff have a responsibility to raise any child safety concerns they may have and comply with all legislative obligations that apply in relation to reporting child abuse. All staff engaged in child-related work are "mandatory reporters" and must comply with the reporting obligations outlined in SOH's Child Safety Framework, in particular the Child Safety Complaint Handling Procedure.
