Medical Secretary & Nurse Positions – Busy Specialist Practice, Ballarat VIC

A great opportunity exists to join a busy General and Bariatric Surgery Specialist practice in Ballarat, Victoria, with opportunities available for experienced and motivated Medical Secretaries and Registered/Enrolled Nurses.

These roles involve a mix of patient care and administrative duties and would suit organised, reliable professionals who value high-quality, patient-centred care and work well in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Please note that whilst these are part-time positions, working hours are flexible and can be arranged to suit the successful candidate.

Expectation of You

Medical Secretary:

* Great customer service
* Experience in assisting patients and prioritising demands, starting with the "meet and greet", booking, answering phones, processing payments, Medicare, Private Health Fund billings, process banking reports and accounts.
* Management of correspondence - phone, fax and emails.
* Familiarity with medical practice software, GENTU / Genie
* Excellent communication skills with GPs, Referrers, Pathology, Radiology and Private Hospital administration.
* Maintenance of the areas of the practice ensuring compliance with Infection Control standards and OHS regulations are met.
* Digital social media literacy and motivation to grow the practice
* Must have Australian work rights or permanent residency status to be eligible for this position.

Nursing

* Registered/Enrolled Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

* Post-registration nursing experience, ideally in surgical, bariatric, or peri-operative care settings.

* Demonstrated experience assisting in minor surgical procedures, wound management and patient education.
* Proven ability to deliver compassionate, patient-centred care aligned with the clinic's values.
* Strong clinical, communication and patient education skills, with emotional intelligence and empathy.

* Organised, proactive, and adaptable to dynamic clinical environments.

* Proficient in clinical documentation.
* Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
