Role Overview
The IT Infrastructure Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of RFDS SA/NT's technology infrastructure and cyber security environment. Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Chief Information Officer, this role plays a critical part in ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable IT services that support lifesaving operations across the organisation.
You will lead infrastructure and cyber security teams, manage on-premise and cloud environments, and act as a trusted advisor on technology risk, resilience, and innovation. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances strategic planning with operational excellence in a mission-driven healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of RFDS SA/NT's IT infrastructure and cyber security environments
* Ensure secure, reliable, and scalable IT services that support critical aeromedical and healthcare operations
* Lead and develop infrastructure and cyber security teams, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and innovation
* Oversee on-premise and cloud platforms, network security, identity and access management, and disaster recovery capability
* Establish and maintain effective IT governance, risk management, and compliance with healthcare and regulatory requirements
* Manage business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation
* Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on technology strategy, risk, and improvement opportunities
* Manage vendor partnerships, contracts, and IT budgets with strong commercial and cost-control discipline
* Drive continuous improvement through service performance metrics, audits, and stakeholder feedback
* Minimum of 10 years' experience in the Information Technology industry, with at least 5 years in leadership roles across infrastructure and/or cyber security
* Strong technical background in IT infrastructure and cloud services design, implementation, and support
* Demonstrated experience delivering secure, high-availability enterprise systems in complex or regulated environments
* Proven capability in IT governance, risk management, data protection, and healthcare privacy requirements
* Experience leading teams in fast-paced, service-critical environments with competing priorities
* Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes
* High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences
* Customer-focused approach with a commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement
