Join Logan Hospital's Child Protection Unit as a senior social worker delivering complex assessments, interagency liaison, education and service improvement in a high-impact role.
About This Role
Your new role:
As a Child Protection Liaison Social Worker (HP4), you will deliver senior-level social work services within the Logan-Beaudesert Child Protection Unit, operating with a high degree of autonomy in a complex, fast-paced hospital environment. You will provide expert clinical advice, coordinate child protection responses, and support safe, evidence-based decision-making across health and statutory systems.

Key Responsibilities Include

* Managing complex child protection assessments, interventions and evaluations within an interprofessional team
* Providing expert consultation and liaison to clinicians, families and external agencies
* Contributing to service development, quality improvement, audits and education initiatives
* Supervising and supporting HP3 clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants

About You
You are a senior social worker with strong clinical judgement, confidence operating in statutory environments, and the ability to influence practice across systems. You are calm under pressure, values-driven, and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

You Will Bring

* Advanced experience in child protection social work within health or statutory settings
* Strong assessment, risk management and complex decision-making capability
* High-level communication skills for liaison, conflict resolution and clinical advice
* Experience supervising, mentoring or educating less-experienced practitioners

Logan Hospital:
Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.

We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.

Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
