Join the team at Curragh Enjoy a 7/7 roster and work on exciting, rewarding projects that grow your skills and impact.
Coronado has a clear growth strategy for Curragh. With an approximate 20-year life remaining, we offer long-term career prospects and great job stability available for our team. We ask our leaders to drive change, think differently and lead new projects and initiatives to build on the operational strength of our asset.
Curragh Mine, near Blackwater, is one of the largest open‑cut coal mines in the Queensland Bowen Basin. Curragh produces more than 12 million tonnes of coal per year with a mining fleet which includes four large draglines. Coal is mined from two mining areas and washed through two plants, producing several different metallurgical products. The combination of scale, mining areas and different products makes this a challenging and satisfying place to work for any mining professional.
You will serve as a Process Engineer, operating on a 7/7 roster, in a permanent role reporting to the Superintendent CHPP Production. You will help ensure optimal process efficiency of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant's (CHPP's) in processing Curragh's coal reserves while achieving consistent products within customer specification at minimal cost.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to develop plans that increase production capacity and reduce site unit costs.
* Contribute to the identification, development and delivery of process improvements and opportunities within Curragh's two CHPP's.
* Heavily involve in coal preparation plant unit operation processing and operational best‑practice guidelines and continuous improvement in pre‑plant practices.
* Work closely with operational team to provide technical support and ongoing coaching to drive plant efficiency.

We're looking for a safety‑focused, results‑oriented professional with the ability to influence and build positive, ethical relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
* Tertiary qualifications in Process/Chemical Engineering, Minerals Processing or Metallurgy, along with practical experience in minerals processing operations, are essential.
* Strong safety orientation and results‑oriented mindset.
