Customer-facing staff responsible for winning business by leading a team of commercial, engineering, legal, and project execution personnel to achieve commercial objectives. High levels of commercial judgment are required to achieve desired outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
Formulate and execute proposal strategies and sales agreements. Develop deal structures, pricing, and proposals. Assist in customer negotiations. Identify new opportunities with functional partners to develop new products and services for business growth.
Require specialized knowledge across product lines, markets, sales processes, or customer groups. Maintain strong commercial awareness and influence the development of strategy.
Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stay informed of industry trends that may impact work.
Use high judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns, or customers. Assess the quality of information provided and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders or customers. Offer new solutions outside set parameters and provide recommendations. Utilize multiple internal and external sources to support decision-making.
May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resources, risk, or complexity. Communicate complex concepts and influence others' opinions. Guide others to consider different perspectives.
Required Qualifications
Significant experience in Sales & Proposal development. Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to lead teams through complex decision-making processes involving multiple stakeholders.
