The business is now focusing on further developing the local market in Queensland/ NSW and diversifying into multi-discipline detailed design services. We are looking for a confident and capable senior Structural Engineer with a broad range of structural engineering experience including residential, commercial and industrial structures to lead the new structural engineering department.
As Technical Director – Structural you will be responsible for undertaking detailed structural design and project leadership. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with clients on a range of projects that will further develop you as an industry leader. You will be provided with a wide range of technical and leadership challenges that will continue to further grow your skills and develop you professionally.
The Role:
* You will take on a senior structural engineering consulting role as well as contribute to development and overall management of the business. Reporting to the MD, your focus will be on establishing, building and strengthening the national structural engineering business through the management and delivery of projects, technical leadership, coaching and mentoring. Specific responsibilities will include:
* Establishing structural design processes and procedures
* Specifying and procuring relevant structural design software packages and design standards
* Assist with the development of new and repeat business within the Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW regions and nationally as required – including preparation of proposals and bids for projects, client relationship management and strategic planning.
* Recruiting and managing a team of structural engineers and draft-persons.
* Being hands on in carrying our structural design projects.
About You:
* High-level technical, project management, leadership, relationship management, planning and commercial expertise are essential in this exciting career advancing role in lifestyle friendly SE Qld between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
* Self-motivated, energetic and dynamic leader who has a strong desire to develop and lead a high performing team to contribute and add value to a fully multidisciplinary design business.
* You will be tertiary, or post grad qualified in structural engineering, RPEQ registered and have successful senior management experience in an Australian consulting engineering services business.
* You have gained your 15+ years Australian structural design experience through working on wide range of residential, commercial buildings and / or industrial structures and multidisciplinary projects.
* You'll be well connected and networked in the local property industry with a proven ability to develop good business relationships and secure work for yourself and your team and have a passion for staying abreast of industry needs and best practice.
