Are you a confident Payroll Officer who’s ready to step up into a broader office leadership role? Our family owned Building Services client in Geebung is looking for a Payroll Officer to join their team with the opportunity to train into an Office Manager. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across payroll, accounts, administration, and staff onboarding, with some practical tasks like managing the uniform room. The objective of the role is to enter the business as a Payroll Specialist and receive training to replace the Office Manager who wishes to retire. You will be personally trained and supported to understand all key facets of business’s back end while being equipped to support their field cleaning staff with queries. Role Structure Payroll (3 days per week): Full-function payroll using Attache, including paper timesheet entry, cost centre allocations and reporting General Admin (2 days per week): Office administration, banking support, accounts assistance, onboarding and compliance tasks Over time, you will be trained to cover Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable during staff leave Key Responsibilities (as the role develops) Fortnightly end-to-end payroll, including Super, PAYG, Payroll Tax, QLeave and other statutory requirements Daily monitoring and management of company cashflow Approving and signing off company payments on a daily basis Chasing outstanding debtors Supporting banking and accounts functions Managing company insurances (public liability, vehicles, management policies) Fleet administration for 75 vehicles, including fuel cards, E-tags, leasing and claims Lodgement and ongoing management of WorkCover and vehicle insurance claims Ordering, issuing and stock control of company uniforms (including uniform room upkeep) Staff onboarding, document storage and visa checks via the ELO onboarding system Daily verification of new and existing workers (large, high-turnover workforce) Oversight of a small admin team (4–5 staff), with hands-on support when required What We’re Looking For Excel and Finance Software experience (such as MYOB) is essential Confident payroll experience is essential Strong data entry skills and attention to detail Comfortable working with paper timesheets and cost centres Experience with Attache payroll software is a Organised, practical and able to switch between office and operational tasks Willingness to grow into a broader office management role Hours & Location 7:00am start, 7.6-hour days (start time negotiable) On-site parking available E-tag provided for employees south of the river, though local proximity to Geebung is preferred What’s On Offer Initially $43.02/hr Penalties $85,000 base salary Superannuation Full-time hours, Casual to Permanent role Long-term progression into Office Manager responsibilities Varied, stable role in a busy, well-established business If you’re ready to take on a varied role that mixes payroll, admin, and hands-on tasks, APPLY NOW and grow into not just a key office leadership position, but key stakeholder in the business.
