Job Summary

UCSF Health seeks faculty and staff committed to professionalism, respect, integrity, diversity, and excellence.The Practice Coordinator 3 represents the administrative team as the public face of the practice, working closely with clinical and management teams to support operations and customer service efforts. Responsibilities include managing CRM messages, telephone encounters, referrals, APeX in-baskets, scheduling, billing, and clerical operations. The role requires adherence to UCSF standards, sensitivity to patient and staff needs, and flexibility in priorities. The PC 3 works across UCSF campuses as needed and scheduled, making a difference by providing excellent customer service and ensuring accurate information flow to maximize efficiency.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent with four years of related experience; or a college degree with 6 months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to pass fingerprinting and be approved as a cash collector if applicable.
Strong computer skills, including experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, and patient records systems.
Analytical skills to assess situations, prioritize, and develop solutions.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic math skills and the ability to deal sensitively with patients.
Organizational and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of medical terminology.
Within six months of employment, proficiency in handling referrals, scheduling, messaging, and other clerical tasks as per training.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare settings, including patient scheduling, insurance verification, or medical records.
Experience with appointment, surgical scheduling, or EPIC software.
Additional Information
Salary range: $31.91 - $45.70/hour. The final salary depends on experience and internal equity. Benefits information is available at UC Benefits.
