Geo-Logix is a leading provider of **environmental and geotechnical engineering services** across Australia. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented **Environmental Geologist** to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in **designing, executing, and managing** diverse geotechnical and environmental projects from start to finish. You will be part of a **collaborative and supportive team**, working both in the field and in the office, primarily across **NSW and Queensland**.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside **highly skilled engineers, scientists, and project managers**, contributing to geotechnical investigations while also receiving cross-training in **contaminated site assessments**.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate soil, groundwater, and vapour conditions, ensuring compliance with environmental and geotechnical standards.
- Performing geotechnical and contaminated land investigations, including sampling and analysis of soil, water, and vapour.
- Assessing geological formations and subsurface conditions through drilling, laboratory testing, and site characterization.
- Conducting asbestos assessments, waste classification, and acid sulphate soil studies to determine material composition and potential environmental risks.
- Preparing technical reports such as Preliminary Site Investigations (PSIs), Detailed Site Investigations (DSIs), Remediation Action Plans (RAPs), and validation reports.
- Interpreting geological and hydrogeological data to assess contamination migration, site stability, and remediation requirements.
- Conducting geological mapping to support environmental and geotechnical assessments.
- Utilizing QGIS for spatial analysis and geological mapping and Datanest for real-time field data collection, management, and analysis to develop site maps, visualize data, and interpret subsurface conditions.
- Ensuring strict adherence to environmental standards and regulations, including compliance with NEPM guidelines through audit and assessment.
- Collaborating with engineers, scientists, and stakeholders to develop effective remediation and risk management strategies.
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and proposals using project management tools.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
