Civil Infrastructure
Are you an experienced civil engineer with a strong track record delivering major infrastructure projects? We have an exciting contract opportunity based in regional NSW for a Senior Project Manager to join a high-profile, fast-moving civil infrastructure programme. This role is ideal for someone who has come up through the ranks as a civil engineer and now leads project delivery across roads, rail, bridges, culverts and/or structures in complex, civil multi-disciplinary environments.
Reporting to the Project Director, you'll take ownership of contractor management and project delivery across significant civil infrastructure packages. You'll be the go-to person on the ground — solving problems, managing performance, and keeping delivery on track.
Day to day you'll be:
* Leading the planning, scoping, and delivery of major civil infrastructure work packages
* Managing and mentoring project engineers embedded within contractor teams
* Overseeing contractor performance against scope, program, budget, safety, and quality KPIs
* Administering contracts — assessing payment claims, managing variations, and reporting on scope deviations
* Resolving construction and engineering issues as they arise on site
* Developing and maintaining detailed Project Management Plans and financial forecasts
* Conducting regular site inspections, liaising with design consultants, and engineering teams
* Preparing technical, performance, and evaluation reports for senior leadership
* Engaging with internal teams, government stakeholders, and local communities on technical and contractual matters
* Championing a strong safety culture across all project activities
What you'll Bring
* Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
* Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia
* Demonstrated experience in major infrastructure project delivery across rail, roads, bridges, culverts, or structures
* Strong contract administration skills, variations, payment claims, scope management
* Solid commercial acumen and financial reporting capability
* Experience managing engineers and interfacing directly with construction contractors
* Sound knowledge of WHS principles and relevant safety legislation
* Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills
Why This Role?
This is a long-term programme with significant scope and complexity — the kind of role that genuinely challenges experienced project managers and builds careers. You'll be working alongside a skilled, collaborative delivery team on infrastructure that matters.
