Your new role:
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety, and Environment Operations, this role will be responsible for driving the proactive implementation and continual improvement of a robust and positive health, safety, and well‑being culture and ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert Health and Safety advice to operational leaders to embed a positive safety and well‑being culture.
Lead and support the implementation of safety and well‑being initiatives in line with the HSE strategic plan.
Drive organisational capability through coaching, mentoring, and engagement across all levels.
Lead or support investigations of incidents, including Significant Safety Incidents (SSIs) and environmental events, ensuring root causes and contributing factors are identified and addressed.
Ensure accurate safety data entry and reporting, including incident classification and closure within target time frames.
Review and maintain HSE documentation ensuring accessibility and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum tertiary qualifications (Diploma in Work, Health and Safety) or higher.
Demonstrated experience in an HSE role in a high‑risk industry.
Experience in relationship management of both internal clients and external stakeholders.
Excellent working knowledge and awareness of Work Health and Safety legislation.
Proficient computer experience in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent.
Ability to challenge, influence, change and improve current systems, procedures, and processes (where required).
Ability to undertake audits, inspections, risk assessments and develop safe work instructions.
A strong commitment to continuously apply and influence best practice standards.
Current Australian Drivers Licence.
ICAM Investigation Training (or equivalent investigation methodology).
