Offer description

Rally for a Cause is seeking a compassionate and motivated Recipient Liaison Officer to join our award-winning charity. In this full-time role, you will act as a vital link between our organisation and the recipients of our charitable services. You will be responsible for ensuring that those we serve receive the information and support they need, fostering strong relationships and advocating for their needs within the charity's framework.


Key Responsibilities


Recipient Engagement

* Lead recipient identification, selection and relationship management for all services and events.
* Ensure recipients remain the central focus of all initiatives, speaking up when they are forgotten and leading a culture of recipient‑first behaviours.
* Collect and curate powerful recipient testimonials and updates, stories and reflections in print, video, and written formats, distributing regularly to all volunteers for engagement, motivation and broadly to RFAC community for transparency.


Advocacy & Alignment

* Act as a voice for recipients within the organisation.
* Ensure alignment with the organisation's mission and values.
* Support events that bridge the gap between sponsors, Dunga Derby, Rally for a Cause, Angel Families and recipient cohorts.
* Attend events that raise awareness of the cause and the services we provide, including but not limited to: community expo, mental health week expo, HBNC Quarterly community events, Palliative Care QLD events.


Event Management

* Plan and execute events end-to-end, including invitations, reminders, calendar entries, quotes, venue liaison and logistics.
* Engage and coordinate with stakeholders and volunteer committees throughout the event lifecycle including calendar entries, social media and reminders.
* Establish and manage event budgets and timelines.
* Ensure volunteers are fully informed, trained and prepared for their roles.
* Maintain clear communication and provide ongoing support to volunteers.
* Promote emotional resilience and self‑care practices to prevent volunteer burnout, ensuring volunteers feel valued for their contributions.


Sensitive Situations & Relationship Management

* Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
* Navigate emotionally challenging circumstances while preserving positive relationships.
* Foster a compassionate and inclusive community environment, leading this behaviour with all stakeholders.
* Seek and implement feedback from volunteers and recipients via formal/informal surveys, face‑to‑face interactions, surveys and other relationship management strategies.
* Identify opportunities to enhance the volunteer experience, recipient experience and Angel Families deliverables and outcomes.
* Prepare data and statistics, sharing monthly updates on engagement, growth, anecdotal stories with Dunga Derby, Staff, Sponsors, stakeholders and volunteer groups.
* Have an open mind and a willing heart to learn more about the experience of others, thirsty to improve services through skill development and learning.
