About the role and team
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our Dispute Resolution and Public Law team based in our Melbourne office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a very experienced Legal Assistant to join a growing and thriving Dispute Resolution practice at a top national law firm that has a supportive culture and collegiate environment.
In this role, you will provide administrative support to a number of Partners and lawyers in both our general commercial litigation and our public law dispute resolution teams.
Responsibilities
* Attending to opening files and conducting conflict checks
* Monthly billing, reconciliation of expenses and client reporting
* Attending to searches on companies and individuals
* Assisting in the preparation of court documents and correspondence
* Formatting and word processing (with support from our dedicated Document Support team)
* Attending to e‑filing using online court portals
* Coordinating meetings and diary management
* Assisting the team with file management
* Liaising with clients, suppliers and stakeholders
* Maintaining Partners/lawyers' contacts in our firm CRM InterAction, including assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications
About you
* A minimum of 3 years of experience as a legal assistant within a litigation and public sector law practice
* Outstanding oral and written communication skills and a strong client service focus
* Proactive and ability to prioritise tasks
* Strong attention to detail
* Strong administrative support skills, including experience with billing and document management systems
* Experience using Aderant and iManage
* Strong time management and organisational skills
