About the Role
We're searching for a sharp and reliable Accounts/Bookkeeper to help keep our numbers in check. This part-time role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work within a high-performing and supportive team based in Chippendale.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and reconciliations
* Prepare payroll and ensure superannuation compliance
* Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with external accountants
* Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
* Process and manage prepayments and accruals
* Keep financial records tidy and accurate
* Support management with ad hoc financial queries and reporting
* Handle payroll tax, superannuation submissions, and end-of-month adjustments
* Manage the accounts inbox and ensure timely responses
* Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
What You Bring to the Table
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
* Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper or accounts officer
* Solid working knowledge of Xero; experience with Astute Payroll is a bonus
* Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Construction industry experience? A plus, but not a deal-breaker
