As Our New Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be part of the Inverell Hospital Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) Team, playing a pivotal role in supporting and educating staff across the facility. Inverell Hospital is a busy Rural District Hospital with services including Emergency Department, Renal Dialysis Unit, In-Patient Unit, Maternity, and Surgical Services.

Inverell is a historic rural town located on the Macintyre River, known as Australia’s Sapphire City.

Inverell offers: travel options to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne; scenic countryside; shops and dining; and convenient local travel times.

Responsibilities

- Providing clinical teaching and support to all levels of nursing staff.
- Working alongside nurses in a clinical capacity, facilitating education and development.
- Acting as a role model for staff, promoting evidence-based nursing practice.
- Interpreting and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines related to nursing education.
- Assisting in the training of students, including Assistants in Nursing (AINs), Enrolled Nurses (ENs), and Registered Nurses (RNs).

- Strong communication and leadership skills (non-negotiable!).
- The ability to function as a clinical expert, maintaining up-to-date knowledge and expertise.
- A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Essential Requirements

- Current Workplace Training and Assessment Cert IV or willingness to work towards
- Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration and relevant clinical or education post-registration qualifications, or equivalent education and clinical experience deemed appropriate.

- Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme: up to $10,000 in the first 12 months plus up to $5,000 each year thereafter in fortnightly payments.

- Based on a minimum 18-month commitment to the position. Payments pro-rated for part-time employees. Eligible Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme details available.
