Australian Fluid Handling (AFH), proudly owned by Torishima, is a leading provider of engineered pump and compressor solutions. We design, supply, and service a wide range of fluid handling equipment across critical industries, including oil & gas, mining, water, and infrastructure. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team based at our Perth WA branch.
Role Summary
This hands-on role involves the service, repair, and overhaul of a wide range of rotating equipment, with a strong focus on centrifugal pumps and compressors including both general-purpose and heavy-duty units built to API standards (including API 610, API 685, API 675, API 618 etc). The Service Technician will be reporting to workshop supervisor and responsible for both workshop-based and some on-site service activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. This role is critical to supporting AFH's reputation for reliability and technical excellence across Australia's industrial and infrastructure sectors.
Salary range of 85k-105k p/a.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform service, maintenance, and overhaul of pumps, compressors, including both general-purpose and heavy-duty units to API standards
* Accurately diagnose mechanical issues and execute high-quality repairs both in the workshop and, when required, at customer sites along the west coast and Northern territory
* Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and AFH Integrated Management System requirements
* Collaborate with engineering, sales, and customer support teams to provide technical insight and field feedback on equipment performance and serviceability
* Maintain detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and job records to support warranty, quality, and traceability requirements
* Support customer relationships by delivering professional service, providing technical advice, and ensuring clear communication during and after service visits
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in service processes and support internal training and mentoring of junior technicians
* Assist with equipment assembly, testing, and commissioning for new projects as needed
Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate III in Engineering or equivalent trade qualification
* Fitter or Fitter & Turner trade qualification preferred for this engineering role
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in servicing pumps and compressors. Familiarity with API standards is advantage
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel if required
* Must have the right to work in Australia, and willingness to travel interstate
* Interstate travel will be required on an as needed basis
* Ability to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions

* Flexible in handling diverse tasks and adjusting to changing priorities
