About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded In-House Counsel with 3–5 years' post-qualification experience to join our close-knit legal team based in Somersby on the Central Coast.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of legal matters in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on construction law and commercial contracting.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide practical and commercially focused legal advice across the business, with responsibilities including:
* Reviewing, negotiating and drafting construction contracts and related documentation
* Advising on legal and commercial risks associated with projects and operations
* Managing competing priorities in a high-volume environment
* Providing concise, pragmatic and solutions-focused legal advice to internal stakeholders
* Supporting the business across a range of general commercial and operational matters
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* 3–5 years' post-qualification experience
* Strong construction law experience (essential)
* Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills
* The ability to distil complex legal issues into clear and practical advice
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
* The ability to work autonomously while also contributing positively within a collaborative team environment
Experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded, though not essential:
* Insolvency
* PPSR
* Property and leasing
* Environment & planning
* Business and finance
* Competition law
* M&A
* Logistics
* WHS
* Employment law
* Commercial litigation
