**The Role**:
The role offered is to join a highly productive business located in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania. You will be responsible for all day-to-day coordination, implementation, and management of sowing, spraying, harvest, machinery maintenance, and haymaking. The property spans 19,000 ha and revolves around broadacre grains, oils, and poppies with irrigation being implemented incorporating fodder planting Lucernes, Brassicas, and Sorghum covering approximately 1,000 ha of dryland cropping and 1,000 ha under permanently fixed pivot. There is large-scale water storage located on a farm with untapped potential that could potentially double the current capacity.
The property is well-resourced with modern machinery and the capability to undertake most jobs in-house without the need for contractors. You will be required to liaise with the property's agronomist and plan cropping rotations along with running harvest. This will include the management of casual harvest staff and ensuring they are completing their jobs promptly and to a satisfactory level.
Under the direction and guidance of the Farm Manager, you will contribute by showing initiative and strong leadership.

**The Property & Employer**:
Our clients are a family-owned enterprise nestled in North-Eastern Tasmania in the Fingal Valley. Currently, under the management of the family's 7th-generation farmers, this is a mixed farming enterprise that was initially farmed and settled in 1828.
It is a large-scale progressive and developing farming business located near Avoca. It is diverse with a mix of productive dryland and irrigated land, balanced with native pastures and highland grazing pastures. The property runs a mix of closely aligned livestock and cropping enterprises which included fine wool, prime lamb, and Angus beef production. Rainfall ranges from 500mm in the north of the property to 950mm in the southern end of the property (highland). Variable soil types range from deep free draining sands to self-mulching soil.

We are ideally searching for someone who has previous experience with SP sprayers and a firm understanding of chemicals and GPS.
