About the Role
Our Private Business Tax team is expanding and we're looking for a Senior Associate to join our vast community of solvers. The Private Business Tax team brings our purpose to life by specializing in providing comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services to privately-owned businesses, including family enterprises, partnerships, andprivately-heldcompanies. Ourexpertisespans a wide range of tax-related areas such as tax planning and strategy, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganization. We work closely with clients to understand their unique needs andobjectives, ensuring they meet all regulatory requirements whileoptimizingtheir tax positions.
Privately-owned businesses and wealthy individuals commonlyseekto invest in property and infrastructure development with the property sector currently accounting fornearly aquarter of Australia's GDP.This role will include working with some of the largest property developers in the country, providing you with the opportunity to engage deeply with high-profile clients and make a significant impact in the sector and wider community.
As a Senior Associate,you'lltake on more responsibility by managing relationships and leading smaller projects.You'll have the opportunity to mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of innovative tax solutions tailored to our clients.
You'llhelp solve complex problems by using your skills in:
Develop and maintainstrong relationships with a portfolio ofprivate businessclients, understanding their unique tax needs andprovidingtailored advice
Ensure clients meet their tax obligations by preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current regulations
Advise clients on tax-efficient strategies to optimizetheir tax positions, including succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and reorganization
Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, conducting in-depth research to provide clients with informed guidance
Mentor and support junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment
Identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, protecting clients' interests
Provide updates to clients on tax-related issues, helping them stay informed about changes in tax legislation
Advise high net wealth individuals/families, businessesand their owners on tax technical topics such as revenue/capital distinction, structuring of financing arrangements, Division 7A and trusts;
Provide tax compliance, tax planning and tax advisory services for large client groups with multiple types of entities including trusts, companies, partnershipand individuals

Innovate and streamline tax processes within the team, enhancing efficiency and accuracy
Work closely with other departments (e.g., audit, advisory) to provide holistic solutions to clients
