Overview
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter / Engineer to join our dedicated team at GF Darwin. Reporting to the Reliability Team Leader, you will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on improving the operational effectiveness of the site.
Shift Pattern
Day Shift: Tuesday 10:00am – 6:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 10:00am – 6:00pm, Saturday 6:00am – 2:00pm.
Responsibilities
* Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activities
* Attend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdowns
* Ensure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performance
* Perform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairs
* Maintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is available at all times.
* Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the site
* Assist in preparing site when required for external and regulatory audits
* Assist the Engineering Manager to manage all mechanical and electrical control hazards on the hazard register to ensure they are closed out within agreed timeframes
* Ensure all breakdowns are communicated to the Engineering Manager
* Ensure all PM work is completed and compliant in the CMMS
* Provide timely and complete reports to the Engineering Manager as required
Qualifications
* Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine/Welding
* GMP and food safety understanding
* Strong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutions
* HS&E knowledge, including machinery guarding
* Experience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable)
* Experienced fitter (Conveyor belts, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics)
