As a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of employees and the environment on our projects.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with the interpretation and integration of health and safety requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations.
* Develop and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans, and procedures.
* Provide input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to assure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
* Interpret safety and health requirements and provide guidance on risk assessment and ESH program execution.
* Research issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
* Support and guide ESH permits, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.
* Participate in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
* Interface and communicate with stakeholders and help resolve their ESH concerns.
* Participate in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
* Conduct ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
Requirements:
* Degree or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related science/engineering area.
* General Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
Preferred Skills:
* Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
* Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work respectfully in a diverse team environment.
* Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position involves exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, including extensive walking, climbing ladders, working at heights, use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts, and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. The candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for each assigned task.
