The Role and the Team
As a Senior Protective Security - Information Security Specialist, you will provide expert advice on the classification, protection, and handling of security classified information. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring Airservices’ compliance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) information handling requirements and support the Chief Security Officer in maintaining a robust security posture, particularly with international vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review Business Impact Levels and Security Classification Guides.
- Assess and manage information risk, including arrangements with foreign-owned vendors and international partners.
- Support cybersecurity specialists to assess security risk to information assets in the direction of the authorisation of systems.
- Oversee the sanitisation, destruction, reclassification and declassification of classified information.
- Provide specialist security advice across projects, including infrastructure and third-party engagements.
- Represent Airservices in industry and government forums.
What You’ll Bring
- Australian citizenship and eligibility for ASIC and NV1 Security Clearance.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in protective security roles, ideally in aviation, government, or Defence.
- Strong knowledge of the PSPF and a risk-based approach to security.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF)
- Experience in security incident investigations and remediation planning and compensating controls.
- Certificate IV in Security Risk Management or equivalent experience.
